How can friends & family support help?

Partners, carers, family and friends can often feel completely at a loss to know how to deal with the rape or sexual abuse of a loved one.

Our friends and family support service is for anyone who looks after or supports an adult survivor (aged 20+) who has suffered from rape or sexual abuse.

The service gives you an opportunity to talk through your concerns and anxieties with a trained family support worker.

Please note, our Family and Friends Support Service is not counselling, it is emotional support delivered by a highly trained practitioner.

What is friends & family support?

Our friends and family support service offers up to three one-to-one sessions either online or over the telephone.

It provides emotional support to families and carers of adult survivors (aged 20+) who have been affected by rape and sexual abuse.

It is a safe and confidential space for you to talk about what has happened. You can use this space to process your thoughts and emotions about your loved ones trauma and how it is affecting you.

The aim is to help you to explore what you and the survivor need, to come to terms with what happened and the impact it has had, and for you to feel positive about the future.
