Thank you to our trustees

A huge thank you to all of our hardworking trustees this Trustees' Week.

Our trustees volunteer their time, knowledge and expertise to support and expand our work with survivors of rape and sexual abuse across Surrey.

What does a trustee do?
Trustees are volunteers who offer their time and knowledge, sharing responsibility for governing a charity and directing how it is managed and run.

They can offer support in terms of connections, sharing and endorsing the charity’s work in articles and posts as well as attending board meetings and overseeing decision-making.

Charity trustees have six main functions:
  • Ensuring the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit.
  • Complying with the charity's governing document and the law.
  • Acting in the charity's best interests.
  • Managing charity resources responsibly.
  • Acting with reasonable care and skill.
  • Ensuring the charity is accountable.

Meet our trustees!

At RASASC Guildford, we currently have six trustees who bring a variety of skills to our board:

Kevin Young is our Chair and Treasurer. Kevin is a retired Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years’ experience in senior finance roles. He is using his skills to support local charities.

Caroline Deane worked as a palliative and frailty care nurse in the NHS for many years, before taking on her current role at a hospice in Cambridge.

Susan Forda is a trained pharmacist, who worked for Eli Lilly for 26 years, becoming Managing Director of the Eli Lilly UK Research and Development site. Susan was previously a trustee of the Eli Lilly Pension Fund.

Helen Price has been involved with RASASC for over 20 years, volunteering as a speaker, helping with fundraising events, a helpline volunteer, a counsellor and most recently providing our friends and family support service.

Liz Perera is a HR professional with over 20 years’ experience and she is passionate about diversity and ensuring equity and inclusion for all. Liz was introduced to RASASC through a fellow trustee.

Sian Felstead is an experienced Programme Manager with over 20 years experience in delivering financial services transformation projects across both IT and business across the world.

We are so grateful to all our trustees for their ongoing support. Read more about all of them on our Trustees page.
