RASASC Guildford were delighted to host a visit last month by Edward Argar MP, Minister of State for Justice and Guildford MP Angela Richardson.
The visit was organised by the Office of the PCC for Surrey, who met earlier with the Minister to discuss a national operation to drive up convictions for rape and sexual offences.
The muti-agency visit also included representatives from Surrey Police’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) team, South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Outreach Service (SWSDAOS) as well as Daisy Anderson, CEO and staff and volunteers from RASASC Guildford.
The MPs were interested to learn about the challenges faced in supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse and the barriers preventing more from coming forward.
Daisy Anderson CEO of RASASC Guildford said: “We were delighted to host a visit of the PCC for Surrey, local services, and MPs at the RASASC offices to talk about the current pressures and concerns facing the sector, including funding and how we can meet the rise in demand for our services.
“We look forward to continued conversations and joined up working with all who attended to ensure we can continue to deliver high quality support and services to survivors of rape and sexual abuse across Surrey.”
